Ultrasonic testing (UT)

This non-destructive testing method is very well suited for the detection, localisation and sizing of material defects at the surface or in the material volume of metallic and non-metallic materials as well as components. Impulse/echo (I/E) and phased array (PAUT) testing methods are applied. 

In particular, ultrasonic testing is used to check the quality characteristics of cast products and semi-finished products (rods, tubes, sheets, profiles, etc.). 

Furthermore, the testing method is used to evaluate wall or layer thicknesses and is particularly suitable for testing weld seams.
