Radiographic testing (RT)

Radiographic inspection, also called X-ray inspection, is a non-destructive material or component inspection for the detection, localisation and sizing of defects (cracks, pores, shrinkage cavities, etc.) within the volume of metallic and non-metallic materials. 

It should be noted that accessibility for optimal positioning of the radiation source and the (digital) film material is required. 

Radiography is a standard procedure for inspecting weld seams as well as castings in power plant technology.
