Electrical conductometry
The measurement of electrical conductivity is used to indirectly determine material properties such as material hardness and strength, material fatigue and structural damage due to thermal exposure.
The conductivity of ferromagnetic materials is measured on a test piece at least 200 mm long on the "Thomas bridge".
On non-ferrous metals, the electrical conductivity can be very easily determined directly on the component using the eddy current measuring principle.
